What's really amazing is that Stan paid a very high price for his beliefs, and did so with amazing grace and wisdom. He seems to want to keep the tale low-key, but it's common knowledge in some circles that a few people in the manhood/womanhood circles derailed his career, and did so proudly and self-righteously. Every once in a while friends of these people still gloat publicly about it and try to get to him by harrassing Patricia.
It makes me ill.
But as for him and Patricia, standing as one in their marriage, I see a whole lot more integrity in their individual manhood and womanhood than in all the empty words their opponents have written. Patricia's not afraid to be the strong woman God created her to be, and Stan's a strong enough man to rejoice in her strength as well as his own. Their opponents are merely shouting at the rain while Pat and Stan reflect the light of Jesus Christ. (Can you tell that they're heroes of mine?)
I really enjoyed the story. It is the real life experiences that truly make a difference.
