Happy Thanksgiving
To our American readers - Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a great day of yummy food and family time. And if you brave the insanity of shopping tomorrow blessings on that too.

Have a great day all.

And if you are bored to tears and need some blogging time you are welcome to post lists of joyful thanksgiving here. Shall we see who's thankful for the oddest things? ;)

As a fellow member of RevGalBlogPals, I hope it's OK to post a few links to where I've done the "Thanksgiving Thing" several times:

Here's where I answer an RGBP meme about what I'm thankful for:
    Thankful Five

Here, my cats sort of do the same:
    Cat Thanksgiving

And here, I post quite a few pictures of the Portland Japanese Garden in all its autumn glory:

This blog is a real blessing to me. To all who converse here: May your feasting be excelled only by your thanks-giving, and may you be surrounded by love and joy today.

I asked my 4-year-old daughter Nika to do our thanksgiving toast and she said she was thankful for the "pretty napkins" -- which were acutally bright blue and pink and not at all thanksgiving-y, and it just reminded me of how it really is sometimes the little things that can bring so much delight and joy.

post lists of joyful thanksgiving here

I'm borrowing Psalmist's Thankful Five idea.

    1) The Job Hunt

I'm thankful that I'm now able to work in Canada, and also that our situation is stable enough that I'm able to take my time and find a job that I'm truly excited about starting. I know that many don't have this luxury.

    2) Health

I'm thankful for the good and/or improving health of my friends and family members. A family member who had surgery on his shoulder last year has since fully recovered and once again is as spry and active as the average person half his age. A friend who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year is responding extremely well to her treatments.

    3) Relationships
I'm thankful for the warm, solid, happy relationships I have with my spouse, my family, and my friends.

    4) Growth
I'm thankful that there are places like The Ooze and EW where I can grow in so many ways: creatively, spirtually, emotionally, interpersonally.

    5) Dairy-free Chocolate
And last but not least, I'm thankful to live in a society that produces chocolate that doesn't aggravate my allergies.

    Happy Thanksgiving all :)

I'm a bit late posting this, BUT I'm grateful for:

1)My family, my friends, my cats
2)A job I like (or any job at all), a house I like (or any house at all)
3)Great teaching at my bible college
    4)A welcoming church
ABOVE ALL a God who loves me.

Delurking...the oddest thing I am thankful for is -- my contact grill. I love that thing; great for coming home in the winter, in the dark, ready to crash and not wanting to spend any more time in the kitchen than absolutely necessary.

Besides God, my wife, our 3 kids, my larger family [though they are pieces of work], and my current vocation, I'd have to say I am very thankful for this shoe rack in our bathroom [though my wife thinks it's ugly] that can hold all our toiletries so our bathroom sink counter is clear!

Not to be pushy, but....did I win for oddest item of gratitude?
