Jim Palmer, friend and author of Divine Nobodies: Shedding Religion to Find God (and the unlikely people who help you) flew into Kalamazoo last Friday night to come speak at our church. It was just amazing to meet Jim in person after talking via The Ooze and email for so long, and there's nothing like God talk over a cup of steaming coffee and a bagel, (especially when it's snowing like mad outside and the windchill takes your breath away.)
I already knew how much I liked Jim's book about his journey to authentic faith through his encounters with "nobodies", but I didn't know until he gave his spiritual talk at Threads what a gift he has as a speaker. There's an mp3 file of his talk on our web site if you'd like to check it out. (And you should, you really should :) How lovely that God's Spirit weaves its web through the Internet connecting us all and creating remarkable encounters. I'm still soaking in the joy of it all.
Very cool, Anne.
